Femme Power Picks - October 16th
Scroll through our recommendations for October 16th's New Comic Book Day, listed below!
There are three new series we're picking up this week, and they offer three very different stories! First up, we have the first official title in the new Mutant-verse post House of X and Powers of X: X-Men #1! A familiar cast of characters is setting off on a very new adventure and we're excited to tag along! Another familiar character, Superman, has a new story in this week in Superman Smashes the Klan! Set in 1946, the story follows the Lee familiar, who recently relocated from Chinatown to Metropolis, and has unfortunately caught the attention of a villain we all know too well- the Ku Klux Klan. After young Tommy Lee is kidnapped by the KKK, his sister Roberta teams up with Superman to try and save him! Last but not least comes a new magical read from Image Comics called Marked. In this first double-sized issue, we discover a group secretly protecting the world against evil by channeling magic through their tattoos!
If you're someone who prefers to read series once they've been collected into trades (or maybe has fallen a bit behind), then this is a good week for you! "Trades" refers to trade paperbacks, which is what comics industry folks call a book of collected comic issues. This is a nice way to get the first four-six comics from a series at once, and often for a lower price! Some great recent series are being released in trades this week, including Calamity Kate and The Magnificent Ms. Marvel!
There are also many returning favorites this week, such as Aero, Captain Marvel, Once & Future, Something is Killing the Children, and so many other Femme Power Comix favorites!
Each title, listed below in alphabetical order, includes cover art and a brief description. To learn more about each title, click on the cover art image and head over to Previews World!
