Femme Power Picks - November 13th

Scroll through our recommendations for November 13th's New Comic Book Day, listed below!

Our big pick this week is DC's new Green Lantern comic, Far Sector, by N.K. Jemisin with art by Jamal Campbell! Given that we have never followed Green Lantern (sorry!), this is a bit of a surprise even to us, but with an all-star creative team and an exciting pitch, we really can't wait to read this first issue! The 12-issue maxi series follows Sojourner "Jo" Mullein, the newly chosen Green Lantern, who is tasked with protecting a massive city of 20 billion people! While that sounds an impossible task, even for a superhero, a 500-year state of peace makes this a fairly boring job, with murder and crime nonexistent. Rumor has it, all of that is about to change...

On a bittersweet note, this week also brings our 50th and final issue of the Unbeatable Squirrel Girl. If you follow our Instagram, then you know this series is near and dear to our hearts. It is pretty rare to see a superhero balance power with empathy, humor with sacrifice, grit with compassion- and both Doreen Green and her Squirrel Girl counterpart have done so for years. We're thankful that the amazing creative team behind the series is able to end the current run on their own terms (especially given Marvel's proclivity for stealth canceling series), but we're still sad that its ending.

And in the world of graphic novels, we're excited to check out Firefly: Sting, which follows Saffron and the women of Firefly as they pull off the ultimate heist! In a unique twist, the book has several artists, each one showing the heist from the prospective of a different woman on the crew!

There are also many returning favorites this week, such as Harley Quinn & Poison Ivy, House of Whispers, Runaways, Wonder Woman, and so many other Femme Power Comix favorites!

Each title, listed below in alphabetical order, includes cover art and a brief description. To learn more about each title, click on the cover art image and head over to Previews World!

And in case you missed it: You can now purchase comics and graphic novels in our shop! We are slowly adding inventory as we get things situated, so bear with us! As we decide what we should stock in the shop, we would love your feedback, so always feel free to send us an email or leave us a message on Facebook or Instagram! And don’t miss our first original product, the Princess Pride Wonder Woman patch!

Are there other titles you're picking up this week? What are we missing from our list? Let us know in the comments section!
